April 7, 2013 - Sunday morning shooting leaves one Man dead
Walla Walla Police are investigating a shooting this morning at a residence in the 1200 block of Belle Street. An adult male subject died at the scene.
The shooting was reported to 911 shortly after 6:30 a.m. Responding officers found the victim inside the residence where the back door had been forced open. An adult male resident is being questioned by Detectives this morning.
No names are being released at this time pending notification of the victim’s family.
Update: The victim of this morning’s shooting in the 1200 block of Belle Street has been identified as Joshua S. White, 35, from Anacortes, WA. White had been drinking at the residence when he was asked to leave following a physical confrontation. A short while later, White forced open the back door of the home and was shot by the resident.
The resident has been cooperative during interviews by WWPD Detectives. No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is continuing.
January 23, 2013 - Swat team serves drug warrant
The 2nd of two high-risk warrants served this morning by the Emergency Services Unit SWAT Team yielded the arrest of Steven Duggan, 47, 203 N. 5th Ave, apartment #A., for felony drug charges. Please see Press Release for additional information.
January 23, 2013 - Early Morning Raid leads to arrest
The Walla Walla Emergency Services Unit SWAT Team forced entry into the rental property located at 247 W. Chestnut shortly after 6:00 a.m. today and arrested 19 year old Mario Diaz Jr. for numerous felony charges related to his involvement in a local gang. January 12, 2013 - Two men attacked by 12 suspected gang members
Police were dispatched Friday evening at 11:54 to the 600 block of Chase Avenue after numerous 911 calls of shots being fired and reports of a fight. One victim is being treated for injuries sustained during the incident at a local hospital. Please see Press Release for additional information.
